Illustrated Lectures

Robert Falconer has a series of slide lectures showcasing Robs work from over the last 15 years. He gives tips on how he took his pictures and his favourite places to go. As well as photographic advice there are also stories of some of the adventures he has been on in the Uk and abroad!

The lectures last from one hour to one and a half hours.

A WINTERS TALE  -   New in 2007!

Winter is one of the best time of years to photograph two of Roberts favourite subjects, landscapes and steam trains. This lecture shows the winter of 2006/2007 from misty, frosty landscapes in Derbyshire to steam trains in snow in the USA!

A month by  month look through the seasons in Derbsyhire from the deep snow to the autumn colours, from the beautiful villages to the wild moorlands.

A look at how the seasons change the appearance of the landscape. New parts of Derbyshire are covered including a look at South Derbyshire and a trip onto Kinder Scout, plus places are re visited from the first show with new pictures.

LAND OF THE FIERY DRAGON
Rob made 3 trips to China in 1999 and 2000 to capture the end of the age of steam! China is moving fast into the 21st century and the steam locomotive is now fast on the decline. Rob also photograph the culture and the people and has stories of going to hospital and coming across the secret police.

MY CUBAN PARADISE
A trip to Cuba is like going back in time to the 1960's! Rob made a trip in 2003 and 2004 to photography this unique island. At the time there were still many steam trains still at work in the sugar industry as well as the now famous classic American cars and the beautiful landscape and people.

OUR WONDERFUL WORLD
A landscape lecture of some of Robs favourite pictures. Tips on how Rob has taken his pictures, his 3 favourite subjects and locations. The lecture shows the Peak District, Scottish Highlands and islands, finishing with the USA, Bryce Canyon and the Grand Canyon.

THE MAGIC OF MULL
After spending a memorable summer on the Isle of Mull and taking 2000 pictures I am in the process of putting a new lecture together, capturing the magic of this spectacular island.

PICTURES WITH ALTITUDE!                                                                          In October 2005 Robert climbed over 18,000ft to Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar with 'Adventure Company', to see the 'top of the World'! As well as seeing spectaucalar mountains and walking over 85 miles, Robert also spent a number of days in the amazing capital of Nepal - Kathmandu, the home of amazing temples and interesting, friendly people.
